Speed Muscles MD Released!

I am proud to announce that Speed Muscles MD has finally been released and is available on the app store. New in this game is the review mode (coming soon in Speed Bones MD and Speed Bones Lite) which allows you to review the parts you've missed after a game. It's fun, it's addictive and you're learning your muscles!

This is a must have game if you are tackling anatomy for high school, university or medical school. Practice mode allows you to learn specific regions without doing all the previous levels. Review mode lets you replay all the mistake you made in the last game to increase learning speed.

I'm open to suggestions so don't hesitate to send me an e-mail if something is missing or not quite right.

  1. Bonjour Benoit!

  5. Hi mranji, as with all the applications on the app store you need an iPhone or and iPod touch to play. It is not a pc game. You may be able to get a refund from Apple if you explain the situation.

  6. Question: I'm in a human osteology class, and I need to learn the specific parts of the bones, ie the popliteal groove of the femur, the medial malleolus of the tibia, the medial articular surface of the patella. Wwill the MD version have the detail that I need?

  7. Hi brigitania, Speed Bones MD does contain much more specific parts of bones (about three times as many parts as the Lite version). It does include the medial malleolus, but it does not get quite as detailed as the popliteal groove or the the medial articular surface of the patella. At some point I plan to add muscle origins/insertions in Speed Muscles MD but I didn't get to it yet.

  8. Hi Benoit,

I was intrigued by your product and bought the whole suite. I've noticed in both the French and English comments requests for the origins and insertions of muscles. +1 for this feature.

Particularly in SpeedMuscles, it would be nice to have some kind of functional component (origin, insertion, action) as well as the info for different heads of certain muscle groups (biceps femoris), since, without this, the anatomical knowledge is not terribly useful to the student's understanding beyond rote naming and basic locations. It would also be great to see a feature in SpeedBones where one would have to point to an origin or insertion site on a given bone (they were ID'd by blue and red dots in anatomy when I took it).

    Cheers,
    ~Mark.

  10. Hi Mark,
I'm glad you enjoyed the games. You're suggestions are already on my todo list. I've been incredibly busy in the past few months. I had a presentation for a big client at my day job this week and I am getting married tomorrow! My plan is to add origins and insertions and have more french translations of the games in the next few months. Cheers.

  11. PLEASE, origins and insertions. Please.

Also, break down some of the muscle groups, like "hamstrings" and "quadraceps femorus" into their actual muscles. Thanks!

  12. Hi slinberg,
My plan is to add origins and insertions in the coming weeks. As for muscle groupings, maybe you were having too much fun playing to notice ;-) but the hamstrings and quadriceps femorus are asked as groups and as individual muscles.

  13. Hello,

I don't have a iphone but would like to buy your program. Is there any other options? I am taking an anatomy class and need help learning the bones.

Thanks for any advice and/or suggestions

  16. Hi Benoit,

Excellent applications! My suggestions would be, if possible, can you include a review mode (ie. without countdown timer) so that it can be used strictly for review?

    Thanks!

    And keep up the work!

  17. I like it too... I got it for my daughter, good app But the ipod screen is to small to accurately touch the appropriate muscle, allowing a zoom in mode would be even better or divide the body, and test each section in more detail. Theres an app called poke a muscle, it can be used online, but with out the detail of your app have you seen it??

  18. One thing I would like to see would be an option to review the anatomy. i.e. By selecting an area, the name of the anatomy could be displayed. Also a general overview where the picture has an overlay of all the anatomy so you can learn it from the diagrams. This would be useful for seed bones, muscles and anatomy. Apart from this a great set of apps. Thanks
